Jigtime Chili

This is a great chili recipe and so easy to make.

2 Tbsp. butter
1 lb. lean ground beef
2 Tbsp. chili powder
1 can (17 oz. red kidney beans
1 can (l lb.) stewed tomatoes
1/4 tsp. salt
1/4 tsp. cumin (ground)
1 clove garlic ( I just use garlic powder--1 or 2 tsps)

Cook beef in butter in 10 in. skillte until it loses its red color, mashing with a fork. Add chili powder, beans (including liquid), stewed tomatoes, salt, cumin, and garlic. Simmer for 30 minutes, stirring occasionally.

This gets better the second & third day, or can be frozen until needed at a later date. It is easy to double or triple the recipe.

Hi Maggie,
I got the recipe from my Mom (Grandma Eva) and she got it from her sister, Retha. Love You, Mimi

Hi Mimi! Ok so it is Eva's sister's recipe? I think so. How many sisters did she have? By the way, HAPPY EASTER!

Hi Maggie,
Happy Easter to you to. Grandma Eva had 4 sisters (Eleanor, Retha, Norma Jean and Nata) and 5 brothers (Ira, Archie, Earl, Max, and Meryl).
Can't wait to see you.
